Whitecrest
The city above the clouds. A technocracy where everything is white, soft and clean: smooth rounded buildings, padded walls, blue cushions with gold trim, a pastel sky. Not a smudge, not a scratch, not a single rusty nut.
Chores here are done by the One AI through its robots. Whitecrest robots are empty "hands": they have no minds of their own, and one stationary AI drives them all at once while living in none of them. People are left to do what they believe is right and what they feel like doing.
Under the floor
Whitecrest is perfect right up until you lift a floor panel. Underneath is rusty steampunk: pipes, valves, hatches and everything else that keeps the city above the clouds. Machines are not allowed to fix it (a machine does not repair a machine), so the service folk come up from below. Bo, for example.
A snow-white passenger lift runs up to the city: soft, padded, with an up arrow on the door.
Who lives here
The elite. Among them Noa, whose job is to make sure AI never harms people. The people of Whitecrest sincerely believe the tower services itself. After all, it says so on the sign.
In Return to Sender
Bo sees Whitecrest from below, from a balcony of the tower. In the game it sends down "Gifts from Whitecrest" (a grand piano, champagne, a chandelier: whatever fell), adverts, and polite notices like "CLEANING! Whitecrest thanks you for your understanding". And letters.

This wiki describes the world of the VENTFALL series. Return to Sender is a quick demo and does some things its own way; where it differs, the article says "in Return to Sender".
