The Floors

Not even Human Resources knows how many floors the tower has. These are the ones Bo fell past, and through, in Return to Sender, from top to bottom.

Cloud Laundry

Whites Go Up

Cloud Laundry
Cloud Laundry

The service floor right under Whitecrest: white tiles, steam, fluff and laundry on lines. The staff are insects: service roaches, lamp moths, wasps from Pest Control. There is the Whitecrest Lost & Found: "Whatever fell is yours*".

Roach Quarter

Uptown

Roach Quarter
Roach Quarter

A town of roaches built out of crumbs. The local elite paint themselves white and play at being Whitecrest. It is all run by the Roach Matron, mother of hundreds, who counts everyone. You too.

Neon Bazaar

All Pre-Owned

Neon Bazaar
Neon Bazaar

Where people start. A flea market, neon, a booth that sells five minutes of a view of Whitecrest for a coin, and Auntie Fuse's bar THE DREGS: "Can't sink lower". Somebody has added in marker: "you can".

The Sump

Below the Baseboard

The Sump
The Sump

Boilers, steam, rubbish chutes and everything "donated" from above. The Rat Foreman runs the shift (quota: one mechanic per shift), and in the evening there is music at Gristle's bar, The Low Note.

The Glow

Tan Guaranteed

The Glow
The Glow

The lowest floor, a radioactive resort. A beach, a solarium, glowing rats and Old Fizz's Half-Life Lounge, where the fizz glows. That's normal.

Station Zero

Below the Glow there is only the ground and the lower station of the passenger lift. In Return to Sender the board says "CAR ARRIVING: SOON". Then "ANY MINUTE". Then "ALMOST".

What else you find on a floor

  • Steam jets, crushers, fans, spikes, conveyors and grates you can drop through.
  • Whitecrest Vending machines. You can shake them with the wrench. Result: a freebie, roaches, or nothing.
  • The public workbench. "Do not touch". In marker: "with what, then?"
  • The cleaning: a few minutes after you arrive the siren goes off, and a wall of rubbish follows it. The exit is a hatch: "EXIT / this way down".

This wiki describes the world of the VENTFALL series. Return to Sender is a quick demo and does some things its own way; where it differs, the article says "in Return to Sender".
