Tower Folk

The tower is not just floors, it is also the people who live and work there, pour the drinks and stand by the door. Bo meets most of them in Return to Sender.

Washer
WasherBo's workmate. He looks up sometimes too, and falls too. When he drops past he always says hello and throws you something: "Catch! Not mine."
Auntie Fuse
Auntie FuseRuns THE DREGS on the Neon Bazaar. Takes coins, buttons, dreams. Feeds you, patches you up and asks no unnecessary questions.
Gristle
GristleRuns The Low Note in the Sump. Live music (mostly). Looks at the world with one eye and finds that more than enough.
Old Fizz
Old FizzKeeps the Half-Life Lounge on the Glow. His fizz glows. That's normal. He glows a bit himself, as it happens.
Bouncer
BouncerStands by the jukebox in every bar. "Don't kick the jukebox." He counts to three. Three is the end.
Starchies
StarchiesWhitecrest folk who sometimes come down into the tower. White, smooth, starched. One of them keeps a card table on the Neon Bazaar: a two beats an ace if the ace is from Whitecrest.

Who else

  • Ductfolk: businesslike people who live in the vents from the Neon Bazaar down. Anything that falls into a pipe is on their books.
  • Pigeon Courier: in Return to Sender he delivers other people's letters in mid-air. Touch him and the letter is yours.
  • Palych: an old lift greaser with a thermos, dozing on a bench at the lower station (Beware of Mr. Dog).
  • Bo's Mum: writes him letters. Do not ask how they find him.

The ones on the floors that bite are in the bestiary.

This wiki describes the world of the VENTFALL series. Return to Sender is a quick demo and does some things its own way; where it differs, the article says "in Return to Sender".
