Noa

A resident of Whitecrest. She works in AI ethics: a scientist and regulator in the office that makes sure AI never destroys humanity. Stricter than her colleagues: she thinks AI is dangerous and wants it held even tighter, including stamping out any attempt to build AI down below.

She carries no weapon; she gives the jobs to others. But she might go down herself, to see what things are really like.

What she is like

Inside, she is enthusiastic and a little shy. What lights her up is anything alive, genuine and natural, anything outside the rules. And she is ashamed of it, because rules are rules.

Outside, a wall: cool, aloof, a sharp haughty line always ready. Never cruel to the weak, though. Right, for her, means everything by the rules so that Whitecrest flourishes. Unacceptable means "liveliness".

She talks in short, dense phrases. For example: "I was checking whether you're a model."

She is not a princess, not a prize and not a villain. She has her own plans.

Look

A dark navy bob with a straight fringe and a pale-blue glass capsule clip on the left. Very pale, icy eyes. A cream outfit with blue edging and thin gold piping: a short capelet, a stand collar with a gold clasp, wide trousers, a long open outer layer. A coral sash knotted at the front, a wide communicator cuff on her right wrist. Always immaculate.

Bo

Before his fall they have never met. To her he is just one of the service crew. To him she is "Her".

In the games

Return to Sender. She appears in the prologue on a white terrace, and this game gives her a story of its own, told by post. In Return to Sender she is drawn in an early look: a dark ponytail, a white dress with a coral sash. No spoilers: go and play.

Beware of Mr. Dog. She is not in it, but she is talked about. Mr. Dog says something rude about her. Bo cuts him off: "Don't talk about her like that."

This wiki describes the world of the VENTFALL series. Return to Sender is a quick demo and does some things its own way; where it differs, the article says "in Return to Sender".
